Digital Literacy App
Digital Literacy App, a tool for increased participation in society
Digital Literacy App is a digital learning tool that supports students with limited or short school background to develop digital competence at the same time as they develop their reading and writing skills. The tool gives them the opportunity to navigate important parts of society through everyday digital texts and is designed to strengthen digital inclusion.
Digital skills for an independent everyday life
For most people, digital services are a prerequisite for being able to take part in community services and make their own decisions in everyday life. In the Digital Literacy App, participants train step by step on digital elements that strengthen their independence and make it easier to navigate society.
Right now, participants can, among other things, practice:
- Scan QR codes
- Make a payment with Yape
- Navigate a website
Step by step towards digital inclusion
Oral language as a basis
The app is based on spoken language. Therefore, there is no written text in the app, apart from what appears in the digital texts the participant work with.
Built-in language support
To make it possible to start in understanding and take advantage of the participant's linguistic resources, there is a built-in language support in the app where the participant has the opportunity to hear instructions in their strongest language.
QR code
In the app, the participant learns more about what a QR code is and how it can be used in everyday life
Everyday digital texts
The content of the app focuses on everyday digital texts
GDPR compliant
Our tool is GDPR compliant, stores no personally identifiable information and all data is securely managed on servers within Europe.
Builds on proven pedagogical frameworks
The Digital Literacy App is based on LASLLIAM, a European framework supporting teaching for adults with little or no schooling background learning in a second language
