Mano a Mano

Mano a Mano

Mano a Mano Perú, a Peruvian non-profit association with almost 30 years of intervention in the Ensenada de Chillón neighborhood in northern Lima. Created by community members and volunteers, with the support of the neighborhood's inhabitants, it has developed social, health and educational activities aimed at preventing violence, respecting the environment and promoting equal opportunities.

The agreement between Mano a Mano and Dispurse seeks to strengthen the literacy program with the implementation of Dispurse's methodology based on the use of the FOCUS application and didactic materials, to serve illiterate young and adult women in the town of La Ensenada, in the district of Puente Piedra in the northern area of Lima.

This collaboration seeks to contribute to the empowerment and integral development of the community of La Ensenada, promoting education as a key tool for social change. Many women living in La Ensenada are migrants from the highlands of Peru who could not access or did not complete primary education, thus facing additional difficulties for their integration and development in society.
